E. Knapp
I photograph images that stretch the imagination. While the subject is set within all the pictures, the scale is unclear which allows the audience the freedom to imagine their own scene and place. My images are captured simply by detail, as my eye is drawn to complexity built out of the lines and circles of familiar objects. As I take pictures, I aim to share a piece of my life with viewers. They are able to see what I see, but while the subjects may be altogether unfamiliar to the viewer, looking at them is still comfortable. My work pits the ordinary against the unexpected. I believe the simple things that are seen everyday hold beauty, and I hope to convey that in my work.
